Survey Work At Tanjung Priuk
Extensive survey work was carried out in the Tanjung Priok area in 1867.
Many members of batavia’s business community strongly opposed the development of this area because they feared that the long – established commercial district around Kali Besar would become deserted if a new centre grew up around Tanjung Priok. Instead , they favoured the building of new harbour closer to the existing one.
Until now, Tanjung Priok port has become one of the largest and most productive port.
