Roman Cathedral
From the very beginning in 1829, when the Roman Catholic church had been created out of the former military commander’s residence. but the building needs a lot of improvement.
in 1859 major improvements were made but in 1879 improvements were made little by little due to insufficient funds. the newly renovated Cathedral was in use in 1880.In 1890 part of the roof callapsed and the decision was finally made to completely demolish the old cathedral and replace it with a new one.
The work was stopped for lack of money, and by 1899 it had begun again and was completed in 1901. In 1901 the new Cathedral was in use and remains in very active use to this day.
